PVC banner printing in Riyadh is the default way to put a large message outdoors. The fabric is polyester with a PVC coating, and it takes sun, dust, and the odd rain shower better than paper, card, or plain vinyl. Some people call it a plastic PVC banner, which is close enough for a phone call.
Most buyers start by asking for “a PVC banner” and leave out the type, which matters more than the size. A frontlit banner, a backlit banner, a blockout banner, and a mesh banner all come off the same printer. They behave very differently once they’re up.
Etihad Golden Falcons prints all four in-house, plus PVC vinyl and posters, and the same team adds hems and eyelets before a banner leaves the workshop. Our outdoor banner printing services include all the main formats.
So which one do you need? This guide goes through each type, the GSM weights, the sizes, how different businesses use them, and what drives the price, so you can answer that before you place an order.
Why Does the Right PVC Banner Matter?
Most banner failures happen in the first week, and wind causes most of them.
A solid banner on an open fence takes the full force of every gust. The load goes straight to the eyelets. One corner gives way, the banner folds over, and by Thursday you’re ordering a second print for a campaign that started on Sunday.
Sun is slower and quieter. In a Riyadh summer, cheap PVC loses colour within weeks, and the hems begin to crack. Nobody complains. They just stop reading it, and the business looks like it stopped paying attention.
The fabric, the weight, and the finishing decide how long a banner lasts. The design decides whether anyone reads it.
What Types of PVC Banner Printing in Riyadh Are Available?

The table compares the six formats by build and print features. Each one gets its own explanation below it.
| Banner Type | Build and Print Features |
| Frontlit PVC | Opaque 440gsm fabric, single-side print, lit from the front |
| Backlit PVC | Translucent fabric, glows when lit from behind |
| Blockout PVC | Black-core fabric, prints on both sides without show-through |
| PVC Mesh | Perforated fabric, passes wind, single-side print |
| PVC Vinyl | Smooth film, gloss or matte finish, stretched or adhesive |
| PVC Poster | Lightweight sheet, short-term indoor and window use |
Frontlit PVC Banners

Frontlit is where most people end up. It’s opaque, it carries the print on one side, and sunlight does the lighting. A 3 x 1 m banner in 440gsm weighs about 1.3 kg and carries around 16 eyelets, which tells you how much strain each fixing point takes in a gust. Put the same banner on an open fence with no wind slits and the sheet works like a sail. That’s the usual reason we see one come back torn.
Backlit PVC Banners

Backlit fabric is translucent, so the print glows when a lamp sits behind it. Colours look best after dark, which is why showrooms and mall counters use it in lightboxes. Don’t put frontlit fabric in a lightbox to save money. It blocks the light, and the whole image goes flat.
Do You Need a Blockout (Double-Sided) PVC Banner?
If people will see the banner from both sides, yes. Hang one across a showroom floor or a hall and the back of an ordinary frontlit banner shows the print as a mirror image, which looks careless.
Blockout fabric has a black core between two printed faces. That gives you a double sided PVC banner with a clean print on each side and no show-through. It costs more than a single-sided banner, and in open space there’s no good alternative.
PVC Mesh Banners

Mesh is the answer to wind. The small perforations let air pass through, so tall fences, scaffolding, and building fronts put far less load on the fixings. Mesh PVC banner printing, including eco mesh banner stock, holds up well at large sizes, and a building-front banner that would tear in solid fabric can hang for months in mesh.
There’s a trade-off. Up close, the image looks softer than it does on solid fabric, and fine text gets hard to read. Mesh suits big headlines and bold logos read from a distance. It doesn’t suit a long paragraph of small print.
PVC Vinyl Banners

A PVC vinyl banner uses a smooth film in gloss or matte, and it prints sharper detail than mesh can. A PVC canvas banner has a textured matte surface that suits cafés and galleries. Both do best indoors or on short outdoor runs, because long exposure to direct Riyadh sun is where vinyl struggles.
PVC Posters

PVC poster printing covers lighter sheets for windows and counters. Cheap, quick to change. Outdoors, the edges curl within days.
How Do You Choose the Right PVC Banner Material, GSM, and Size?
PVC for banners comes on rolls up to 3.2 m wide. Anything wider uses heat-welded seams, which is how large PVC banners for building fronts get made. Weight is measured in GSM, and it decides how the banner hangs and how long it lasts. Outdoor PVC banner printing in 440gsm is the standard, but it isn’t the only option.
Use 340gsm if you are:
- Hanging indoors with no wind.
- Running a campaign that lasts a few days.
Use a 440gsm PVC banner if you are:
- Hanging outdoors for weeks or months.
- Printing a standard shopfront or fence banner.
- Working to a normal budget and a normal wind exposure.
Use 510gsm or heavier if you are printing a large banner that stays up for a long time on an exposed wall.
Weight adds up quickly. A 6 x 3 m banner in 440gsm weighs close to 8 kg, so the fixing points need to be strong before the fabric gets any heavier.
Sizes follow the space, so measure the frame, wall, or fence first. The common ones are 1 x 2 m for shopfronts and small stands, 3 x 1 m above entrances, 3 x 2 m for showroom fronts, and 4 x 2 m for site hoardings. Past 6 x 3 m, you’re into welded building-front banners. Anything with a measured frame can be custom.
PVC banners with eyelets carry metal rings along the hem, usually about 50 cm apart. Hems stop fraying and spread the tension. Tall banners do better with wind slits, and a banner on a pole needs a sewn or welded pocket in place of eyelets.
Strong banner colour comes from the ink, the print resolution, and the fabric coating. White PVC gives the cleanest base for bright colours. Send artwork at the final size or as a vector file, and the text stays sharp at large scale.
How Do Different Businesses Use PVC Banners in Riyadh?
Each business hangs banners for its own reasons. Here’s where each type fits, and what it does once it’s up.
Retail Stores & Shopping Centres

Retail runs on seasons. Ramadan, Eid, White Friday, and National Day each change what hangs outside the shop, and a banner that takes a week to print misses the first days of the sale. One that fades by the second month does damage of its own. Foot traffic also changes through the day, so the same banner has to work for someone walking past and someone driving by.
- A frontlit PVC banner above the entrance announces the offer and reads from across the car park.
- Backlit PVC banners in lightboxes keep promotions visible near the checkout.
- PVC posters in the window are easy to swap when the offer changes.
- PVC mesh banners suit mall façades, where large visuals face constant air movement.
Beside the till, roll-up stands with PVC prints repeat the offer where the customer is about to pay. It’s a small thing, and it tends to work.
Restaurants & Cafés

A café sells one table at a time, and the banner outside is often the only advertising it has. New branches announce an opening weeks ahead, so an outdoor PVC banner over the entrance does most of the work, whether it says “coming soon” or “now open”. Outdoor seating adds sun and dust, and weak fabric shows the damage quickly.
Inside, a PVC canvas banner on a wall adds a warm matte finish that suits a café better than glossy vinyl. Counter menu boards work well in backlit PVC, because dishes look better lit from behind. Patio fences can carry PVC mesh banners that keep the brand visible and leave the airflow alone, and a window full of PVC posters handles lunch offers and delivery apps. Menus change often, so whatever goes up has to be easy to replace.
Construction & Real Estate

A buyer reads the site fence before they read anything else about your project. If the banner has torn, they notice.
- Large PVC banners on the perimeter fence, carrying the project name and one phone number.
- PVC mesh banners wherever the fence is tall or open, since solid sheets don’t last a season there.
- A 440gsm frontlit banner for sale and rent notices on the building front.
Developers often ask for the heaviest fabric available, and that’s reasonable on a banner that hangs for six months in 45°C summer heat. But weight alone doesn’t solve it. A heavy banner with weak eyelets still tears at the corners, so we reinforce the hems first and raise the GSM second.
Inside the sales office, a PVC vinyl banner gives a sharper image of the finished building than mesh can. Over the model, double sided blockout banners let visitors see the project from both directions.
Events & Exhibitions

- PVC backdrops behind the stage carry sponsor logos. Larger formats sit under our event backdrops range.
- PVC banner stands beside the booth hold a short message and a contact number.
- A frontlit PVC banner at the entrance names the event.
Event banners go up fast and come down faster. Exhibitions, conferences, and launches depend on prints that arrive on time and pack flat, and a late banner means an empty stand on opening day.
Overhead, double sided blockout banners let both sides of a hall read the brand. Along corridors, PVC posters point visitors toward rooms and sessions. Visitors read from a distance first, so size and contrast carry most of the message, and the small print only gets read after they’ve already decided to stop.
Schools & Universities

A school year has four or five dates that need a banner, and each one has a fixed day. Admissions, exams, sports day, graduation. Parents read them at the gate, so the message has to be short.
- A frontlit PVC banner at the main gate announces admissions and open days.
- PVC mesh banners on sports fields carry team names and sponsors, since open playgrounds are windy.
- PVC vinyl banners in corridors show student achievements.
For graduation, large PVC banners welcome families at the hall entrance, and PVC posters on notice boards cover timetables and dates.
Automotive & Showrooms

Car showrooms sell on offers, finance deals, and new models, and the banner changes with every campaign. Forecourts are open, hot, and windy, and a faded banner above a new car undercuts the brand.
Inside, prints face bright showroom lighting and need to stay sharp. Two types do most of the work there:
- Backlit PVC banners in lightboxes, where brand visuals stand out under the showroom lights.
- Double sided PVC banners above the floor, so buyers approaching from either side see the offer.
A large frontlit PVC banner over the showroom front carries the new model, and PVC mesh banners along forecourt fences announce service offers. Roads near the showroom can repeat the campaign on street pole banners.
Government, Sports & Community Events

National Day, Founding Day, public campaigns, and sports fixtures fill the Saudi calendar, and the dates don’t move. Size and consistency matter, and so does timing.
- Large PVC banners on building fronts carry national campaign messages.
- PVC mesh banners on stadium and field fences carry event and sponsor colours.
- A row of street pole banners along a main road repeats one visual and builds recognition by the third pole.
At public events, PVC banner stands guide visitors to registration and services, and PVC vinyl banners brand stages and entrances at community days. One practical point: banners on public streets and public buildings need municipality approval. Check it before you order, because a banner that comes down after a week has already cost you the campaign.

How Does Etihad Golden Falcons Print PVC Banners in Riyadh?

Etihad Golden Falcons prints PVC banners on in-house machines, from a single piece to a full campaign run. PVC flex printing, hemming, eyelets, and welded seams all stay with one team, so your order never leaves the building between file and finished banner.
Print Quality You Can See From the Road
Because printing and finishing sit under one roof, a colour that looks right on the first banner looks the same on the fiftieth. Nothing waits on an outside supplier. The logo on your shopfront matches the one on your fence.
Turnaround That Fits Your Campaign Date
Delivery takes 1 to 3 days after artwork approval, and your quotation arrives the same day. A sale or an opening has a fixed date, and a banner that arrives late has already failed.
Experience From 1,000+ Clients
Our team has printed banners for retail, construction, education, events, and public campaigns, so most site problems have already come up once. One limit is worth stating: we don’t file your Balady approval ourselves. We do tell you which size, placement, and wording details the application asks for, so you don’t find out at the counter.

FAQs
What is a PVC banner?
A banner printed on PVC-coated polyester fabric. The coating resists sun, dust, and water, which is why it suits outdoor use.
Which GSM is best for outdoor PVC banners?
440gsm is the standard. Move to 510gsm if the banner is large, exposed, or stays up for a long time.
Can you print PVC banners on both sides?
Yes. A blockout banner has a black core, so each side carries its own print with no show-through.
Do PVC banners come with eyelets?
Yes. We add hemmed edges and metal eyelets, usually about 50 cm apart. Tell us if you want pockets or no eyelets at all.
What sizes do PVC banners come in?
Any size you can measure. Common ones are 1 x 2 m, 3 x 1 m, 3 x 2 m, and 4 x 2 m. Larger banners use welded seams.
How long does a PVC banner last outdoors?
Usually several months to a year, depending on sun, wind, and GSM. Reinforced hems add more time than most people expect.
Can I order personalised PVC banners?
Yes. Send your artwork or logo and your measurements, and we’ll print a custom PVC banner to that exact size.
Can mesh banners go on buildings?
Yes, and they suit scaffolding and tall façades because wind passes through. Banners on public buildings still need municipality approval.
